Designers Saturday Oslo 2013

This weekend I was part of the Greenhouse exhibition at KHIO at Designers Saturday.

Great people. Great weekend. Great exhibition. Happy!

any producers out there?

It's not easy for a furniture designer to find producers for its products.

Yesterday I got the sweetest mail from a grandmother who wanted to buy my furnitures and wondered where she could get them.

I had to dissapoint her when I informed her that I am still looking for someone to produce them...

It made me realize that I really haven't done enough.
Project find manufacturers is hereby initiated!

play+soft

PLAY+SOFT is a research project on new soft furnishings for young children, resulting in a line of around 200 products. The laboratory process involved the collaboration of twenty-eight international designers, teachers, and pedagogistas: the dialogue between pedagogy and design and the theoretical reflections that were developed.

They are made of eco-friendly materials, fire-resistant but soft to the touch, in a broad range of colors and textures.

PLAY+SOFT aims to introduce new sensory and aesthetic qualities into environments for children, with the guiding principle that 'children have a right to beauty'.

Their products include landscapes, micro-places, play structures, mats, transformable seating, and more. They're designed in partnership with ZPZPartners and the preschools of Reggio Emilia.

Tea pods

I am highly interested in design for children.

I believe they are the most important people in the world

- they are our future, so they deserve the best!

I want design for kids to stimulate their imagination and be multi functional.

The tea pods from iglooplay is probably really functional in the private home.

Quite nice to look at as well :)

Greetings from Stockholm

Arrived at the Formex fair today.

This was my starting point, the furniture still in a box.

(See the cute monster my son drew on it! Really long legs!)

Et voilà!

I made rough frames of bamboo poles, which gave a warmer sens to it.

Opening tomorrow, I'll be here for 4 days...
